!ciscoandshadow wanted a show quality picture for March, with the horse looking all pretty and at it's best. I decided to kill two birds with one stone here and draw an entry into *mitzuki2themoonnback's 2012 show as my best-looking Ghost picture.

Just look at him standing all pretty and standing in perfect position. Ghost looks pretty nice too. ;D

I know it said 'SMALL' story, but...I don't write SMALL stories. It's physically impossible, I'm telling you.

Also, as per requirement: Mitzuki is so awesome

It was sad. He'd been to the United States before he'd ever been to England. Looked just like home, basically, except the grounds were huge. "I bet Toradh could fit in this place." Jamison commented as they unloaded the now trailer-fearless Ghost who walked calmly down the ramp.

Cody glanced around, looking at all the interesting buildings, before pointing. "Is that a...hotel? On the grounds?" He asked, completely amazed. Jamison looked at it too, and gave a nod. "I guess that's where we'll be staying for the night until the events start. Looks pretty fancy." Jamison commented innocently, smiling cutely. "You'll fit right in." Cody scoffed, draping the covered suit over his shoulder as they walked along toward the stables, going to find Ghost's temporary stall. "Luckily for everyone, I only have to wear the monkey suit when I'm out playing with the rest of the monkeys." Cody pointed out, leaning against the wall as Jamison found Ghost's picture on the stall. "There you are, fella. Home sweet home for the next few days." Jamison said, and Ghost looked at him blankly. He was put into the stall and he whinnied, getting a few responses back. Sadly, neither of the horses in the stalls flanking him were filled, and he was getting antsy being by himself. He pawed at the door and Jamison sighed. "Stop that!" He said hopelessly, knowing the horse didn't respond to negative reinforcement. He continued on the stall door and Cody looked in. "You're gonna have to pay for that." He commented, and Jamison leaned over the divider too. "Dammit." He said, letting himself into the stall again and redirecting Ghost's attention to the water trough, or the bale of hay that was sitting there waiting for him. "Why don't you do that for a while?" Jamison suggested to the horse, who didn't look all that convinced. He nearly knocked Jamison over as he went to the other side of the stall, calling out again for the other horses with a shrill cry, both men putting their hands over their ears as the whole stable echoed with various responses.

"He'll be fine. I'm sure they're reinforced." Jamison said, nodding towards the door so they could make their getaway. The rest of the day was rather relaxing. They sat around the pool drinking whiskey and pretending it was summer, or rather Jamison pretended it was summer, sunglasses and shorts on. "The whole world must think you're mad. You've already got a reputation for making faces at Americans." "She asked for it." Jamison commented plainly, smiling as Cody shook his head and chuckled.

The next day came around and Cody looked anxiously out the window of their room. "It's drizzling." He said shortly, and Jamison looked out too. "So it is. I wouldn't worry about it though. You'll be nice and toasty in your lovely suit." "Wonderful." Cody said, starting to pace around a bit. "You're going to wear a spot in the rug. It's only halter. Smile pretty and just focus on the little pattern they want." "If it's only halter, why aren't YOU in the monkey suit then?" Cody asked, and Jamison chuckled. "Because you look much nicer in it than I do. I look silly." "/I/ look silly." He said, pulling at the pants. They felt strange around his waist and were stiff and uncomfortable. Jamison looked outside again. "Well, we know it fits. Get into some normal clothes until show time. I don't think I could take you seriously looking like that." He said with a smile, and Cody laughed, incredulous. "Yeah, exactly."

2:20 rolled around and the two were standing with Ghost in the courtyard. Not being in training position, Ghost leaned toward Cody and tried to rub his head against him. "Woah!" Cody said, jumping away from the horse, before straightening it out dramatically. "You'll tarnish the suit." "Take the horse and tell him it's time to get serious." Jamison said, handing Cody the leather leadrope. "Don't rub on me." He said sternly. "He just wants to love you." Jamison said, smiling innocently. "Ha ha ha." Cody responded, pushing Ghost's head gingerly towards Jamison, but he had no interest in the alternative. "There, it's almost time. Get in there and just show him what to do." Jamison said, clapping Cody on the back as he walked off.

Ghost stood quietly next to Cody in the lineup, waiting for their turn to do the pattern. Occasionally Cody would tap the back or front of Ghost's hooves to make him take The Halter Stance, but other than that, Ghost looked great. When it came their turn, Ghost did as Cody led him around, standing pretty in front of the judges. Cody gave him a glance over to make sure he was positioned correctly, then looked at the judges and smiled. The rest of the pattern went smoothly and he felt like when it ended was the first time he had breathed in a good while. Jamison was looking on from the audience, clearly proud of both his friend and his horse. When they exited the arena, Jamison nearly leaped on top of Cody. "Good job, I think you both did it!" He said merrily. "It was the suit." Cody said, brushing imaginary dust from his shoulders.
